(I would then wipe w/ clear water to prevent the hairpray from getting on your clothes.)If it is on the clothes, saturate the stain, soak in water and resaturate w/hairspray then wash in cold. Check washed clothes before drying or else the dryer will set the stain.

Rubbing alcohol. All-purpose cleaner. Tip. Check pockets before washing and drying clothing. Substitute alcohol-based wipes or hand sanitizer for rubbing alcohol to remove permanent-marker stains from the inside of the dryer. Turn the dryer on for a few minutes to warm the surface.
